It’s a standard open back 5 string Banjo but with the added bonus of a passive (ie no battery required) Fishman pickup built into the bridge so you have the option of plugging it directly into an amplifier. Although we feel it would benefit from going through some sort of pre-amp like the L R Baggs Para D.I which can be found here:

But any EQ pedal would do the job too.
It’s just passive pickups are a little ‘quiet’ and often require a boost even before it gets to a mixing desk / amp.
