Brand New PRS Custom 22, Ebony FB Faded Whale Blue #0278112
Decoding the title..
PRS – Mr Paul Reed Smith, the CEO and designer of most PRS guitars.
Custom 22 – the model (see more info below)
Ebony FB – RARE Ebony fingerboard instead of Rosewood (just like an Artist Pack!)
Faded Whale Blue – that’s just the name PRS give to this colour, in this case a colour usually reserved for Artist Pack versions. Rare!
Pattern neck – refers to the particular shape of the neck
#0278112 – that’s just the serial number so we know specifically which individual guitar this is.
PHOTO’s – for more detailed photo’s please have a look at this guitar in our ebay store: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303209652677
Basically this guitar is similar to an ‘Artist Pack’ graded guitar but without the extra flamed maple top and extra £500 pricetag!!
Note on wood grain – this guitar features an upgraded EBONY fingerboard. However, ebony isn’t always blacker than black and does have variations in grain and tone. In this case you will notice there is a faded patch on the 16th fret – this is 100% natural. If you want you can colour this using a wood stain, even manufacturers often touch up their guitars, but this is natural. There is also a patch on the headstock.
Summary (Chris says..):
Wow, what a beauty!! Sadly my photographic skills can’t do this guitar justice, it’s a real stunner. Being 100% honest I personally think PRS are excellent value. Every single aspect of this guitar seems to have been precision engineered and well thought out right down to the screws that hold the back plate in. We love servicing these guitars too because they are such a joy to work on. Truly solidly built to last (My personal guitar is a PRS Custom 22 from 2005 and it still feels like new). Tone is rich, yet powerful with bags of sustain. Tuning stability is great and by great I mean way better than other mahogany bodied USA made guitars! The 5 way switch gives you instant access to a wealth of tone – from classic funky American single coil tones, to classic American fat seering humbucking tones. Every single member of Guitar Mania currently has at least one PRS guitar, some have sevreal. Just about every member of staff that has ever worked at Guitar Mania has owned a PRS too – as soon as you play one you’ll want one, and there’s so many at so many diferent price points that we’re sure there’s one that will suit you.
