The guitar falls into what I would describe as ‘good enough’ category.
It’s not quite as nicely finished as the Jose Ferrer but then the Jose Ferrer is more expensive. However, IT IS still a fully playable instrument and you can actually learn to play on this guitar. Some of the cheaper ones on Amazon are not really proper musical instruments, they don’t play in tune, even if you tune them up. We strongly advise that you buy the Jose Ferrer or this one or a USED Jose Ferrer but certainly no cheaper as your child just will not be able to actually learn on it. Just be glad they don’t want to learn saxophone otherwise you’d be spending hundreds.
Note about the finish: Now these are a budget instrument and made at a cost. The lacquer / paintjob etc is not not exactly Mercedes level and the guitars have many minor blemishes and imperfections. At this level it’s unavoidable HOWEVER the guitar is still playable, so it is ‘fit for purpose’ as a musical instrument. I mention that because many that we shown from online purchases are seriously NOT capable of being used as a guitar. If in doubt, just ask us to demonstrat it !

NOTE: all junior classical guitars require tuning. The warehouse staff at online shops WILL NOT tune your guitar. Here at Guitar Mania we will not only tune your guitar but give the strings a stretch too so your guitar will stay in tune much better than if you buy from a music warehouse.
